Many years experience in research and development and comprehensive options for upgrading make the models of the ESPASO family the right decision for almost any grading and sorting demands. Depending on your purposes and objectives, it is important to give thought to the choice of model and accessories. That is why we strongly recommend taking advantage of our offer of free advice.

Nevertheless, we would like to give you some ideas right here for choosing a suitable ESPASO.

Some considerations when choosing the right ESPASO:
  • How many grading criteria for asparagus do you have at the moment (including all sidelines or seconds as e.g. tips, soup asparagus, hollows, etc.)?
  • Experience shows that using an ESPASO increases the number of grades by up to 2 or 3.
    • From the (German) asparagus grade "One White" a grade "One White Rust" can be split off which can be sold separately.
    • The minimum length for the premium grades is increased from 17cm to 19cm or 20cm. This requires an intermediate grade of 17 to 20cm.
    • Asparagus with a thickness of between 16 and 20cm which used to be graded as Grade "One" can be sub-divided at least for white varieties into two more grades (16 to 20mm and 20 to 26mm). This results in a more homogeneous appearance.
  • Depending on the weather, the proportion of grade "One White" or similar grades can increase from 16 to 26 % to more than 50 %. This means that you need to reserve several output containers for that grade.
